It’s that time of the year when I would indulge in my K-Dramas and if you start watching Korean actors, one of the first things that you’ll notice will be their FLAWLESS skin. And everyone wants that, including me! But before I even embrace the 10-step Korean skincare routine, I had to start with what I have & that’s a face sheet mask and water!
Change #1: Water Intake
As much as I can finish (more or less) 4 x 800 ml of water in a day, I know that it’s not enough and so this part is a conscious effort on my side, especially that I workout for an hour, 3-4 times a week. So I tried my best to chug on my water, like make it 6-8 x 800 ml and then if I’m going out, I would bring my water bottle.
Change #2: Green Tea
Normally I go for one cup of black coffee in the morning & another cup in the afternoon (before 6 pm) & a cup of green tea before bed. Last week, I changed my 2nd cup of joe for some Japanese green tea.
These changes were great, it’s just that my trip to the bathroom also doubled. Hehe..
Change #3: Face Sheet Mask a Day
Lastly, I used a face sheet mask every night & kept it on my face for 20 minutes and applied my evening skincare routine.
After a week…
After 7 days of doing these, I can honestly say that my body & skin felt great. Doubling my water intake & adding green tea on my diet kept me hydrated & refreshed. Even if I get less than 8 hours of sleep, my face does not swell or “maga” so ladies, if you’re staying up late, be sure to drink more water. My pores were less visible & the photos below were taken without any makeup on.
As for the face sheet masks, my skin looked brighter & moisturised and there was less redness on my nose areaย and because of that, I found myself using fewer products on my skin. As you know, I got my day & night skincare routine but after these, I only apply my toner & moisturiser.ย
Notice that I still got breakouts on my forehead because of workout sweat & those hormonal pimples. So using face sheet masks won’t actually control your acne & you still have to use your anti-acne products. But overall, my skin looked better than before.
OVERALL
I declare that this one week experiment was a SUCCESS and I will continue to do them from here on. I don’t claim that once you do these, it’s guaranteed that you’ll have a clearer skin. Please note that a number of factors can still change the result and one example is your diet that’s high on sugar & sodium. Another one is your overall hygiene. ๐
Now, this is the part where I dare you to try these & see what happens!
So what’s next? Should we do the 10-Step Korean Skin Care?!?! Hmmm… let’s see! ๐
