I’ve been away for a while for a much-deserved personal time but as a welcome back gift, here are my thoughts on the Huda Beauty Textured Shadows Palette Rose Gold Edition.
The palette was launched months ago but it was sold out everywhere! Thankfully my beauty source got me covered and it was delivered to me in the last week of October.
You will get a total of 18 eyeshadows with 3 finishes.
- 6 metallic foil shadows or 3D metals finish
- 2 pearl finish
- 10 matte finish
FOILED / 3D METAL SHADOWS
In my opinion, this is the highlight of this palette. The texture may be a bit chunky but once you apply them on your lids, it will definitely make your eyes stand out.
Out of the 6 3D metal shades, I only had issues with Trust Fund. It was the chunkiest and it won’t apply properly regardless if you apply it using your finger or a brush with MAC Fix +. It’s also the reason why I cannot use it on its own and had to mix it with other foiled shadows such as Rose Gold. The rest of them are awesome.
PEARLIZED SHADOWS
These are the shades with iridescence and there are 2 of them. They can be worn alone or on top of another eyeshadow. Moon Dust can also be worn as a highlighter on the cheeks or brow bones.
MATTE SHADOWS
There are 10 matte shadows and I did not experience any problems while using them. Sure, there may be some powder kick but overall, they are highly pigmented and blends well.
LOOKS CREATED
Here are some of the looks that I’ve created using this palette.
PRICE:
- The palette is sold at 68 USD (hudabeauty.com) and 65 USD (Sephora US
- I got my palette from PingBong Shoppe at 125 SGD.
PROs:
- They are easy to blend and work with.
- The shades complement each other.
- The shades in this palette are very wearable may it be at work or on special events.
CONs:
The packaging is very similar to the Z palette and although it can be considered travel-friendly due to its size, I still prefer it if they had a mirror. I compared it with my Urban Decay Vice 4 palette and unlike the Huda palette, it has:
- better packaging
- 20 eyeshadows
- a huge mirror
- dual-ended brush
- bought it for 90 SGD at Sephora SG.

OVERALL
This eyeshadow palette received a mixed reaction from the beauty community but despite the disappointment on the packaging, I enjoy using it. I’m happy with the quality and performance of the product. For someone who wears glasses like myself, I’m in love with this palette because it can really make my eyes stand out.
I will post more makeup looks using this, so you better stay tuned! This is me for now and I hope you enjoyed this review. Be sure to SUBSCRIBE so you won’t miss anything! You can do that via email or follow my other accounts where I share my sneak previews.
