I hope you enjoyed reading my review for Kylie Jenner’s Lip Kits in Candy K and 22. Now I am sharing my thoughts on another set of shades from her matte collection – Posie K and Mary Jo K.
PACKAGING
I want to clarify that I bought the lip kits from a local seller and she was so nice to include the whole thing when she sent my orders. I wanted to experience the whole process of ordering, etc from the official website but I just can’t. It’s always a battlefield out there! Again, her lippies were sold out in as fast as 15 minutes! You must be very fast or else, you stayed up late for nothing. Her last restock was scheduled at 4 PM PST which is 7 AM, Singapore time and no, I am not a morning person so again, I can’t. ;D
The lip kit boxes are are carefully placed in a box and when you open it, you will find the following:
- website details (kyliecosmetics.com) printed in white letters and
- her brand printed in bold letters and silver in colour.
- Note from Kylie
The lip kits were wrapped with foams. This is something different as most of the stuff that I ordered online arrives in bubble wrap.
LIP KIT
The Kylie Jenner Lip Kit contains one (1) lip liner and one (1) liquid matte lipstick. They are housed in a white box white the brand’s signature lip logo as shown in the photos.
Lip Liner
This may look like your standard lip liner but it is very creamy. It reminds me of NYX retractable lip liners – pigmented and creamy. And to those who are wondering how they can sharpen their lip liner – just use your regular makeup pencil sharpener.
I don’t normally use a lip liner because I feel that it adds dryness when I wear liquid matte lipsticks, especially when you use MAC lip liners. That is also why I prefer NYX lip liners because they are creamier. However, it is undeniable that lipstick lasts longer when you use a lip liner first. Also, it gives a better payoff when you use complimenting colours.
Liquid Lipstick
The product is placed in a transparent tube with a black cap. The brand name and “signature drip” are printed in body of the tube. The name of the shade is printed on a silver sticker and pasted at the bottom of each tube.
Size as compared with other liquid lipsticks
Personally, I am not a fan of the overall design of this product. I like the design of the lip liner, but not the liquid lipstick.
Applicator/Wand
It comes with a standard applicator but it is very light to use. The applicator picks up a good amount of liquid lipstick so when you apply the product on your lips, you do not have to do a second swipe.
SWATCHES
*please note that due to the difference in undertones, the shades may look brighter or darker to different people.
For your reference here are my shades:
NC25 (MAC Pro Longwear Foundation) / 1.5 (MAC Matchmaster) Y225 (MUFE Ultra HD) / Light 4 Deauville (NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation)
POSIE K
Described as a dusty, mauve pink with a matte finish. This shade reminds me of Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Mother but KVD is pinkier. It gets darker as it stays on the lips, but overall, a lovely shade.

MARY JO K
Described as a true blue red with a matte finish. One word: BEAUTIFUL!
If you have been following my blog, you already know how much I love red, matte lipsticks and this is the kind of red that gives your lips that extra “oomph”. There is no way that you can wear this without feeling pretty. Seriously.
The colour is so rich that it brightens up your face. I normally wear this for my day look and keep the rest of my face simple. Partner it with that black cat eyeliner and you are good to go.

This hue is achieved when you use the products together (lip liner + liquid lipstick). I tried using the liquid lipstick alone and it was not as red as this.
Price:
- Each Kylie Jenner Lip Kit is sold at 29 USD (shipping fee not included)
- If you break it down, it is like you are paying 14.50 USD each for the lip liner and liquid lipstick and that you don’t have the choice to buy just one (which is not so bad because the product surely delivers).
- In Singapore, the price of online sellers may vary, but in average it is being sold between 60 – 90 SGD.
OVERALL
PROs:
- The products are both very opaque and pigmented (individually used or combination);
- 1 swipe is enough
- Easy to use and apply.
- It feels so light on the lips as if you are not wearing lipstick at all.
- Not sticky
- Long lasting/long wearing
- When I tested Candy K, I had coffee and a Turkey ham and cheese croissant which is a bit oily but it did not move.
This is a photo of the croissant and as you can see, there are no lipstick marks on it. Same goes with my coffee cup. Then I had curry rice for dinner and there was a little fade out because the food was very oily to start with. However, it left a good amount of stain on my lips that there’s no need to reapply.
- No feathering.
- Not drying and my lips wasn’t flaky despite the 8 hours of wear before I removed my makeup.
- Very minimal transfer (only if you eat very oily foods)
- Easy to remove even though it seems that it can stand oily foods.
- Made in the USA.
CONS:
SCENT
- It has a cake batter smell and taste that I really do not like. I like that kind of smell in my food but not in my makeup. But it wears off after a few minutes.
AVAILABILITY
- The brand is not available in Singapore but you can still get it from online sellers
- You can check CAROUSELL for local sellers and I ordered mine from merolshopsg.
ALWAYS SOLD OUT
- It is hard to get through the website and like I said, the moment they restock, it is as good as sold out – the only question is, how fast can you place your order.
I say that these Kylie Jenner Lip Kits are great products mainly because it delivers its promises. You have a lot of choices in today’s beauty market, but not all can really live up to their claims. I am happy that these worked for me and honestly, I love them. I have been using them for almost every day and considering to try the rest of the collection.

Which one is better, long wearing n nondrying? Kat von d or kylie?
Hey Tiffany,
Based from my experience, Kylie’s are long wearing compared with KVD. However, I did not feel much dryness with KVD as compared to Kylie’s. So it’s like each has their own advantage. But like I said in my previous response,
Kylie’s lip kit has a good colour payoff that you only need one application. Make it double and you will feel the thick coat on your lips. KVD on the other hand may not be as intense as Kylie’s on first application BUT you can always add a little (max of 2 applications, at least for me) and it won’t feel heavy.
Lastly the price, with Kylie Lip kit you pay $30 for the lip liner + liquid lipstick combo while on kVd you pay $20/pc of lipstick.
Thx for helpin
No problem 🙂
Would you prefer kylie’s lip kit or KVD? (i have kylie’s in pose k, and i want to get KVD in double dare… i feel like colors are similar perhaps? what do you think! I’m genuinely wondering because I don’t know if i should buy the KVD or save the money or what)
thanks,
Ingrid of styleprosciutto.blogspot.com
Hey ingrid! @daydreamgiselle
I personally like both (but lately I am reaching for Mary Jo K ) because they are great products. But here are my thoughts:
– Kylie’s lip kit, particularly the liquid lipstick has a good colour payoff that you only need one application otherwise, it may feel thick on the lips. On the other hand, KVD, not as intense as Kylie’s on first application and you can always add a little (max of 2 applications, at least for me) and it won’t feel heavy. Make it 3 then that can be a bit thick.
– What i dont fancy so much about kylie’s lip kit will be the smell.
– But come to think of it, you pay $30 for the Kylie lip kit but you get 2 items (lip liner + liquid lipstick) versus kVd that is $20/pc.
I suggest that you try KVD too if you have a chance so you can experience them because we have different preferences. There are times when Some products really works on me but a lot of people are not impresses and vice versa. Maybe you can watch out for a Sephora sale? (I am not sure how the Sephora USA sale works, sorry bout that.)
But let me say that Double Dare and Posie K are not on the shade and double dare is a beautiful colour that you can wear everyday.
Hope I answered your concerns and thank you for dropping by!
