Spending 2 weeks in Paris made me crave for Asian cuisine, especially the hot soup on cold days/nights. Thankfully, the hotel is just a few steps away from this small Chinese restaurant called Le Pont De Yunnan.
With the restaurant’s small size and delicious offerings, it sure gets full easily. We have been a “regular” in this place and it was always full of customers. When we first tried their menu, I ordered the chicken herbal soup and it instantly became one of my favorites. It is the perfect food for the winter weather in the city. In fact, I searched for the recipe online so I can cook it at home.
Here are some of their best dishes that we tried during our stay.
Yang Chow Fried Rice
Fish Fillet in Sweet and Sour Sauce
Squid Rings in Spicy Sauce – One of their best. The Squids were cooked perfectly.
After enjoying the sumptuous meal, you may want to cleanse the oils away, you may order and enjoy their green tea.
In summary, here is my review based on my experience in this restaurant:
- FOOD – 5 / 5
- The presentation of their food is simple. You will use chopsticks, bowl, and soup spoon when you eat.
- Taste – I will say it is good. I love tasty foods.
- Serving size – Generous servings and one order is already good for two people.
- PRICE – 5/5
- A dinner for two with 3 different kinds of dishes will cost you around 35++ euros. BUT! In case you cannot finish them, you may bring it home. Just ask the person manning the restaurant.
- CUSTOMER SERVICE – 4/5
- There are 3 guys manning the restaurant at different times of the day, but my favorite is the guy at the counter (in the picture above). He is very friendly and accommodating. He tried to engage in small talks despite having a hard time because he mainly speaks French and Chinese. But we really appreciate that and we feel welcomed. The other 2 were also accommodating, but they do not smile and there were times when one of them seemed to be annoyed with our request for serving spoons.
- As for the serving time, it may take 10-15 minutes for your order to be prepared. Again, as I mentioned above, they only cook your food after you order them.
- Will I go back?
- Oh, yes! If given the chance to visit the city again, we will try our best to go back and have a lovely dinner at their restaurant.
- Will you recommend it?
- Definitely. It is worth trying and what they offer is very different with the usual food that you can find in Paris.
