It was so crazy cold and we had to buy scarves because our layers of clothes are no longer protecting us from the chilly weather. I got myself a fur hat (that I love) plus a small and EXPENSIVE umbrella. Can you imagine, it was 8 euros for a small, regular-looking umbrella! In Manila, that would be around 30 pesos. Oh, well! I know, I know. I am not in Manila. I will stop ranting now. 🙂 We just badly need it so we do not have a choice but to get one.
Actually, the choice is to be soaked in the rain and get sick or buy that expensive umbrella. And yes, I still have it with me. 😀
They were selling the mouthwatering bratwursts. We were just looking and decided to some and suddenly the stall was crowded with customers.
This is what I was talking about. Mustard and ketchup sealed the deal.
After having our snack, I wanted to have some hot soup and as we tried looking for food stalls selling one, we saw the Marche Gourmand and checked the stores inside.
The food choices were great, but I did not find what I was looking for, so we just continue walking.
So, we got excited when we saw the ice skating rink 🙂
By lunch time, we were looking or a restaurant or a place where we can sit, eat and feel warm. Though we read in some of the reviews that the set meals were very expensive in this area of Paris, but we do not have enough energy to go somewhere else and try our luck in finding a place to dine in. It was too cold and we were hungry, too. Thankfully, we did not have to walk longer because we saw this place called 100% Brazil and I think they just set up a tent of some kind for the bazaar.
The mister was very confident that I will love Brazilian food because it is almost like our Filipino food, the dishes are very tasty. And yes, the food did not disappoint. Though the presentation was not very appealing, yet the taste was good. One thing that I do not like when eating would be a plate full of different things. It is either I eat one at a time or the way the Koreans prepare their food: one plate per dish.
As you can see in my photo below, the plate was small, and they place the salad, black beans with sauce, fried chicken and veal altogether. When my plate arrived, I was not impressed but after I had my first bite, I can let the bad the presentation pass.
The meal set was around 14.00 euros and it was served with a drink of your choice and a basket of bread.
After our lunch, we strolled for a few more minutes but as the weather gets colder and colder, we decided not to go to the Arc de Triomphe anymore. I was worried that we may catch serious colds if we stay outside for long. I just told the mister that we can just go back next time if we will have the chance. At least we have something to look forward to when we go back.
