It’s a Monday and I am going to share my review for the much-raved eyeliner, that is the Eyeko London Skinny Liquid Eyeliner.
I first knew about this thru Instagram and after that I noticed that there is a big fuss on this product. Everyone was talking about it and looking at the pictures of those wearing it, it seemed to be a very promising eye makeup. Who doesn’t love the perfect cat-eye, right?

When I learned that this has arrived in Singapore, I was excited and went to Sephora in Plaza Singapura. Unfortunately it was out of stock. Yes, it was sold out that fast. All that was left was their mascara, but I do not wear mascara much as I am always on my eyeglasses. A few weeks later, I checked again in one of Sephora’s outlet. This time, it is in ION Orchard. Luckily, the eyeliner is back in stocks. EyeKo eyeliners have varieties:
- EyeKo Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner (SGD 25)
- Eyeko London Skinny Liquid Eyeliner (SGD 22)
I decided to get the second one because I told myself that I do not have to get both. If ever I want to have a thicker cat-eye look, I can just draw more. (this was the idea).
I did not get to use it until last Saturday and I was very excited to use it and see the result. When I first draw a line on my eyelids, it did not leave a strong mark – more of a faded line. But I was thinking, “Oh, that’s odd? maybe I need to shake it well to give more.“
I even draw a line at the back of my hand just to make sure that it is working. Then, I draw once more, but instead of having a thicker line, it seems that the previous line is being erased! I drew several times until I already feel that my eyelid is already hurting because of the attempts. It was also because the tip was very dry to start with. No matter how you shake or tilt it, it won’t make a difference. This is far the worse eyeliner that I have used!
Swatching the Eyeko London Skinny Liquid Eyeliner – notice that it is not as dark as expected
this is the best that I can make out of this eyeliner.
If you will notice that on the farther left side of my eyelid, it looks like it’s fading. That’s what happens when you try to reapply, it will fade more. I was very unhappy with how it looked on me. As a workaround, I used my STILA smudge stick so I can patch up the line to make it look better. After my personal experience with the product, I tried to search some reviews on it because I was thinking that maybe I got a bad batch, then from what I read, the reviews were a mix of good and bad. Quite honestly, I was surprised on how some reviews rave on the ease of use. Some of the reviewers had the same experience that I had.
I tried to swatch it in my hand today, together with the rest of the waterproof eyeliners that I have and you will notice that after a few minutes, the Eyeko London Skinny Liquid Eyeliner is not as impressive as what was being advertised.
This photo is a comparison of Eyeko London Skinny Liquid Eyeliner to the rest of the eyeliners that I have. Notice that the product is already fading after setting for a few minutes. (I did not put any lotion or moisturizer on my hand when I swatched these).
I was very disappointed on how the product performed because if you will base your decision on purchasing the eyeliner thru ads, you will be convinced that it is indeed a wonderful piece of makeup.
- Product – 2.5/5
- The presentation and packaging of the product are good. It is eye-catching enough to get your attention to check it out.
- Ease of Use – 2/5
- This is by far the worse eyeliner that I have used. Normally, my lids will hurt when I am trying to remove waterproof eye makeups. This time, it’s the other way around.
- Price – 2/5
- 22 SGD for a not so good eyeliner? Not worth it.
- Will I purchase again?
- Will you recommend it?
- Personally, my answer is a big NO. But it really depends on you, as you may want to experience it yourself.
Have you tried using this brand? How did you find it? Share your thoughts and experience 🙂
